In other words, how factors like education contribute to leadership skills of women in patriarchal societies like the one existing in Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa. For the purpose, the researchers—having chosen Charsadda District area where the total population was 96—collected primary facts through random sampling technique. In the first phase of the data analysis, frequency and percentages were found out through descriptive statistics in univariate whereas the bivariate data was analysed in the second phase by applying Chi-square test to see the association level between independent (educational roles) and dependent variables(women participation in active politics/women’s leadership skills) in inferential statistics. It came to light that although women had some
liberty, misinterpretation of religious beliefs prevail in the society barring them from potential leadership roles. All institutions should take the religious institution along, it’s suggested, to help alleviate women problems as well as encourage them in various leadership roles.
2019-07-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Pakistan Journal of Social and Behavioral Sciences (PJSBS) http://journals.uom.edu.pk/pjsbs/article/view/37 A Contextual Study of Causes of Suicides in District Dir in the Light of IMV Model of Suicide 2020-12-14T17:31:04+00:00 NASAR KHAN abc@gmail.com Dr.ARAB NAZ arab_naz@yahoo.com
O’Conner (2011) theorized the act of suicide into an outcome of multiple socio-psychological factors and divided it into three phases known as IMV (Integrated Motivational Volitional) model of suicide. For the purpose, a total of 372 respondents from the targeted locals residing in districts Swat and Peshawar were selected through proportional allocation through Sekaran table and data was collected based on five-point Likert scale. The economic activities of the minorities were selected as independent variables while the level of social interaction was obtained as dependent variables. The collected data was analysed at uni-variate level through frequency distribution and Chi square test was performed at bi-variate level. It was found that minorities felt marginalized in terms of economic participation which is attributed to their
lack of prestigious jobs at governmental levels and their tiny share in other socio-economic resources. However, economic transaction and business ties can enhance their socialinteraction with Muslim majority. On the other hand, strong social ties may also increase and encourage the minorities to initiate business ties with Muslim majority
2019-07-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Pakistan Journal of Social and Behavioral Sciences (PJSBS) http://journals.uom.edu.pk/pjsbs/article/view/39 A STUDY ON THE EFFECTS OF USE OF ICT ON STUDENT’S ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS AT UNIVERSITY LEVEL AMONG UNDERGRADUATE FEMALE STUDENTS’ IN SIALKOT 2020-12-14T17:40:35+00:00 FAIZA ASHRAF abc@gmail.com GHULAM ABBAS GHAZI GAJANI abc@gmail.com
Information and communication technology is the demand of the present era. Such marriages are often considered to be consensual but research suggests that they are a result of constant mental pressure and so-called persuasion. This study aims to examine
the ratio of young adults still going through such forceful persuasion, and identifies the proportion that approves or disapproves of this societal practice. This is a conceptual study using mixed methods of research. The lack of existing data is the main limitation of the study due to the fact that this is a less-researched area, making researchers collect data through questionnaires and focus group discussions. The findings show that majority of the youngsters are against forced marriages while considering them as oppression but most of them think the issue of apparently consensual marriages is here to stay
2019-07-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Pakistan Journal of Social and Behavioral Sciences (PJSBS) http://journals.uom.edu.pk/pjsbs/article/view/41 Coverage of Peace and War Journalism in Local Press: A Comparative Analysis of Daily Shamal and Daily Azadi of District Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 2020-12-14T17:49:29+00:00 Asmat Ali abc@gmail.com Dr. Sajjad Ali sajjadjmc.uop@gmail.com Dr.Imtiaz Ahmad abc@gmail.com
This study has been conducted to analyze the coverage and treatment of peace and war journalism in local press of District Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
