Abstract

This article critically examines both the textual structure and thematic content of the Kulliyat of Mulla Arzani. It offers analytical insights into various aspects of his work and presents several suggestions. Mulla Arzani is recognized as the earliest known Pashto poet to have composed a complete divan along with other literary works. He was a disciple of Bayazid Roshan and was later appointed as his first caliph, sent to India to preach the faith of truth. His shrine was recently discovered in the Kasur region of India, in a place known as Patna, and continues to attract many devoted visitors. The article includes a brief biographical overview of Arzani, an introduction to his Kulliyat, a discussion of its structural arrangement, and an exploration of the principles of textual editing. Additionally, it delves into various dimensions of Arzani’s poetry.
