Traffic etiquette in the light of the Quranic verses and hadiths

Abstract

Islam is a religion of perfection and comprehensiveness of all aspects of life, whether it is associated to economic, political, moral, educational, social or other rulings. Allah SWT (almighty) and His Messenger have guided us to all aspects of life, and these are the Islamic characteristics, that Islam includes all decrees from the beginning of the universe to the end. Among these rulings are the etiquette of roads and their functionality, additionally, the guidance of the road instruction is comprehensively highlighted in Islam. Unfortunately, people currently believe that traffic provisions are a non-binding legal responsibility rather than mandatory in Shariah. That is why they do not follow it effectively and most of the time they violate it. Undoubtedly, this concept is absolutely wrong, in addition, following traffic rule is mandatory and is a moral responsibility, hence, violating the traffic rule is a major sin. Thus, this article attempts to explain this subject briefly, that following traffic etiquette is a legal and Shariah responsibility; moreover, it is a moral obligation as well.
