Abstract

Sufi poetry refers to poetry in which real love or religious sentiments are depicted. The real essence of Sufism is real love, which is a passion. Every sufi has a natural affinity for poetry and every poet has a natural affinity for Sufism. In fact, Sufism and poetry have mutual sharing and intuition; there is a basic link of unity which cannot be terminated under any circumstances. Since the beginning of Islam, many women have experimented in various genres of poetry, especially on themes like eulogy, naat, description, bravery, generosity, as well as on the themes of divine love, self-discipline and concern for the hereafter. Women have played a vital role in the development of Sufism which is classically understood to have begun with the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). Women mystics have also contributed a lot. Like Sufia women melted their self in the will of Allah. History reveals women remain integrated with sufi.
