An Analytical Study of Pashto Poetic Translations of the Holy Quran

Abstract

For non-Arab people to understand the Holy Quran, translation into the national or regional language is required. In this regard, the Holy Quran has been translated into different languages ​​of the world. One of these languages ​​is Pashto, which is understood and spoken in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan province and most parts of Afghanistan. Many translations of the Quran have been written in Pashto, of which there is also a trend of poetic translations. It is an important work in the Pashto language regarding Quranic studies, but it has not been researched yet.

Therefore, in this paper, the Pashto poetic Qur'anic translations will be mentioned, in which its introduction and styles and methods will be discussed.
