Imam Shafi's Method of Inference in Ayat-ul-Ahkām- A Research Study-

Abstract

Allah SWT has revealed the Holy Quran to his mankind for obtaining guidance from it. It contains various topics, the scholars have grouped these in five major topics, among which, Ahkamul Quran is the main topic. The basic objective of revealing the Holy Quran is to get knowledge of and be familiar with these Ahkam ul Quran. This has been a tradition among scholars to write in details on any specific topic. So, many scholars of different schools of thought have described this topic as well. Imam Shafi is pioneer among those scholars who discussed it. But unfortunately, his book about Ahkam ul Quran is unavailable now, but his views were scattered. Imam Beyhqi has collected these views of Imam Shafi in his book. This article discusses these views of Imam Shafi with reference to the book of Imam Beyhqi.
